    What Love Is

    Love's a gentle hand in mine,
    A stroll beneath the moon;
    A whsiper soft as sherry wine
    Sipped from an ivory spoon.

    Love is taking off your shoes
    And dancing in the rain,
    With that special someone whose
    Mere presence heals your pain.

    Love is honor in a glance:
    A wink, a smile, a nod;
    Love is to a sweet romance
    A little touch of God.

    Hoosier, You have said it all her . And you have answered any question concerning what love is. I like its frankness and candor and esp the ivory spoon. ginga

    Your poem is sweet and simple, yet touches a chord deep in my heart. The line with as soft as sherry wine is especially good.

    I enjoyed your poem. It was like a casual walk down the path of life, hand in hand with your chosen life's partner. Beautiful. TS

    Short, sweet, simple and to the point. It was definitely beautiful.

    Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
