What Would Be The Cause?

What would be the cause?
For you to walk out, what flaws?
Would I have to wear a mask?
What would be my task?
Would you love me for me?
Flaws & all, completely...
Could and / or would you accept me?
With all the patience need be
Allowing individuality
Maintaining integrity
Do you have the ability?
Do you have the capacity?
Any possible capability?
I just want you to know,
I refuse to put on a show
So if you must leave, just go ahead & go
Let's not waste any time
If you can't handle mine.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
