When I Get Free

When I Get Free

When I get free

I’ll take long walks

I’ll open my eyes and look forever

I’ll paint the images on my mind

You will never have to describe a thing

When I get free

I’ll hear the phone ring

I’ll listen to every jingle

I’ll pick it up just to hear your voice

We’ll talk for hours, there’s no limit it’s our choice

When I get free

We’ll go and play

We’ll run like kids the entire day

The day will turn to night

We’ll lay on the moist ground

We’ll hug we’ll kiss under the stars

What a magnificent sight

When I get Free

I’ll visit you everyday

I’ll rub you, I’ll caress you

No more steel in the way

I’ll do things differently

I’ll wake up with the right things on my mind

I’ll work the hours positively

I’ll look my loved ones in the face and tell them “I love you”

When I get free

I’ll be 99 Can you wait that long

When I get free

I’ll cry cause I want to,

I’ll laugh cause I’m happy,

I’ll see things as they are

I’ll no longer be the quiet one behind the bars

The harsh reality of my existence will no longer be a number

When I get Free.......

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
