Wholeness with my Lovely

Wholeness with my Lovely

Scratching my way to that deep dark place
Needing to find a way
I will die and so will you
If I do not meet that place with you
Healing can begin
hearts can be mended
Truth be told between us
Enemy is how I am seeing it
Now I need to embrace it
I want that wholeness with you my lovely
Truth as bitter truth is not the enemy
The lie of perfection is
Can I really live that truth of mediocrity in my mind ?
Like a knife sticking in my belly
Admitting like a kid who just got caught
Ravished by shame and fear
Nothing to lose or nothing to gain
I want that wholeness with you my lovely

I really like this and the imagery you portray. My favorite lines are, "Truth as bitter truth is not the enemy The lie of perfection is". Very good. Thanks!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
