Why does love hurt so much?

Why does love hurt so much or is it really the love that causes the pain?
Or maybe the people that use the word loosely to obtain material gain

Even when you abstain from love it still hurts at some point to be alone.
Pursuit of happiness or this so called love seems right only to end up all wrong

Sad sad songs and mental intoxicants soothe the pain for a short while.
When the c.d. stops and cloud 9 drops it maybe still hard to muster a smile

Sometimes looking to reconcile with past loves only because you know what they are capable of doing.
Assuming this patch work love would do but now love is hatred boiling over to things that has no undoing

Spewing words of disdain wanting this hurtful love to ease slightly.
Politely asking for a remedy trembling looking up for answers from the Great God Almighty.

Praying nightly that God please answer your call.
Remembering that old saying better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all

Truly magical. Write more so I can read. This gets a big 10. Great work!!! Oh yeah, I really enjoyed the ending!

This was truly as beautiful well written poem begining to end.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
