Why not love but lust

Why not love but lust

Elusive is the name I have given love

A question if I have wings to fly above

To be lost in the clouds so high

Floating amongst the stars in the sky

Neigh, that world was not created for me

Time against time I still stand at the sea

Sand gently washes upon my feet

Gods’ cure I wish I could have beat

Grain for grain thou shall cast a wish

Hope for love I do remiss

Thou I stand incomparable to most

Time is upon me with no one to host

Ugly, shellfish, and hated by all

Gives reason why my wish I do recall

Remember why I was put upon this land

Gently I look back and see his small hand

Sons love can only fall so far

An abyss full of lust creates my small star

Am I to be alone walking the path of death and despair?

Or, in time, will I find another hand to share

Question I have I feel will never be won

Thou one answer comes that I will always have my son

what a lovely poem.. love the rhythm...the flow. I read it out loud to get the full feel of it.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
