    Why

What gives us the right to kill and fight
slaughter the mother, murder thy brother
In the pews stand Christians, Muslems and Jews
all solid in their might to preach the light
saying one better than the other

Through the ages during all war's stages
    perfected is our ways
To cast destruction on one another
    despite common father, common mother

In all teachings is respect for being
    biggots among us fall
To say each truth is God's act
slaughter the hippocracy of it all

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
