    Wish I Hadn't

Ok, so maybe I'm a dreamer,
And I believed in a fairy tale.
But you sure did ruin that one for me.
I hope you're happy and doing well.
And you are wish that I wish that I hadn't made.
When I made a wish with all of my heart.
I closed my eyes, believed all your lies,
So why be surprised when you tore me apart?
I know I might be a little crazy,
And I can let things get to me.
But when I let you in, you got under my skin,
And my heart got broken by your disease.
You were a wish that I made on a broken star.
But it sure was bright, looked all right to me.
Boy was I wrong, I just couldn't see that far.
Now all you are is a bad memory.

This is a really good discription of how we women love a myth. We are real, and honest, loving. We only expect for them to be also. But, so many are not.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
