    Without You

    I think daily
    What life would be
    Without you
I try to lay it on paper, but
    My pen just bleeds.

It's been me, and you from the start
You have the keys to my heart.

The thought of being without you
    Runs kind of deep
If it was a mountain it'll be really steep.

I would climb to the top
    No way I would stop.

Just the thought of being without you
    Fill my mind with sorrow.
Just the thought of being without you
There is no hope for tomorrow.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
