WORDS
Some can cut just like a sharp knife
Some can comfort just like a friendly arm around your shoulder
Yes, they have a definite power to hurt or to heal
And you alone have control over them
Only you can decide if they will work for good or for bad
They are your Words
The Words you speak
Your Words are powerful
Make no mistake about it
They are a strong force upon your family, friends, even casual acquaintances
Keep watch on your Words, for Words are wonderful things
They are sweet like the bee’s fresh honey
But like bees they have a sharp sting
Keep them back if they are cold and cruel, under bar and lock and seal
For the wounds they make, are always slow to heal
For once sharp Words have been let loose, there’s no calling them back
They have done their damage
Cruel Words have their power, but it’s the gentle Word, the caring Word, the loving Word that has far greater power
It’s such a big responsibility to guard our Words
But no one else can do it for us
It’s entirely up to each individual
