You Are A Gift
Do we as men and women recognize that we are gifts to one another?
As the women I am the sister, the daughter, the mother that delivers
The sons, the husbands, and the brothers
I AM A GIFT!
As the man you are of royalty
Surpassing the labels of society
While boldly accepting the challenge to be
The warrior, God created you to be.
YOU ARE A GIFT!
To know you are a gift, you must 1st know yourself,
Recognize your value, your depth, and your spiritual wealth.
Now, ladies if you love your men, take them as they are
Don’t put your faith in the house, the money, or the car.
Acknowledge your man for the King that he is
And never let him forget that he is a gift.
Entice with the mind and not the behind;
It will make the bond stronger in trying times;
God took you from his rib to make him complete, A gift, a partnership, immune to defeat.
Don’t let no one on the outside take your gift from you.
Cause they’ll infiltrate your camp and steal your boo!
Don’t listen to your “Friends” that sit on the phone
And say
Girl…..leave that man alone.
While listening, commenting, and advising you,
They’re plotting on how to take your gift from you.
Treasure your gift and watch his back;
In hard times step in and take up the slack.
Cause when the bone is dry
And the cat don’t meow
And there’s no more milk left in the cow
And his mate, willing to get dirty and pull the plow.
THAT IS A GIFT!
Now men if you have a woman who knows what it is
Then you know she’s from your flesh
AND SHE IS YOUR GIFT!
If you are soul mate and the gift that God sent
Carry yourself as a man and not the serpent.
Don’t concern yourself with worldly mythsYou are the hunter, the provider,
THE ULTIMATE GIFT!
Don’t try to be a baller, shot caller, playa, pimp, or stunner,
Thinking it’s all gravy, Spittin' game like butta'
Don’t try to be a paper chaser, playa hater, or imitator
Cause you defy yourself, defy your gift, and you defy The Creator.
Understand your suaveness, earn your due,
Make it evident to these women the
GIFT IN YOU!
As men and women recognize your roles
You were created and duplicated
To fill each other’s mold.
King David’s, Abraham’s, Moses, too
Deborah’s, Naomi’s, Esther’s, Ruth
You are as one, united in bliss
Remember your roles.
