You Dont Care

You Dont Care

I thought you loved me. I thought you cared. If I gave in & did what I wanted, would you even miss me? All the things you've said, all the promises you made & broke. Every lie you told me, mine as well be a nail in my coffin...
You dont care, & because you dont care, it'll be easier for me to do when the time comes. But do you realize just how many times you've come close to losing me forever? Did you realize that every time you looked in my eyes, there was a sign? A sign as clear as a 100ft billboard. A plead for you to help me, for you to stop & ask me if I was ok...
You dont care, & because you dont care, you wont know that you've lost me 'til you open your eyes & look. 'Til you open your ears & listen...
But Im gone now. Did you notice?

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
