a kiss

the pain in my heart will always be there for it hurts for someone that is not here a love that i had and will never let go they had it for me but never let it show their pain and sorrow overwhelmed me like a blizzard of snow so heavy and so deep in their eyes it was cheap but to me it was costly their pain and sorrow just chased me away the love i gave just didn't add up to what i received and the hurt i felt i never believed and i soon learned that they weren't the one so i went on down a path of darkness taking what i could get then i found one that knew there was hope for me yet they took me by the hand and lead me on home to a place that i thought i would forget but here i am once again
in the place it all began to the place that i loved and the place from which i ran the darkness was fading a way the forest was leading me astray till the one stranger that took my hand and led me back to where my love once began where the light was so bright and suddenly went dim i found my way back but not by myself i found it with someone that said they would help they showed me where it was and that it was still there and all it took was a gentile hand that took mine and said please let me help you my dear from that day on i have thanked them with a kiss for the darkness is one thing i will never miss

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
