Poem Commentary

A challenge from my mom.

A long forgotten memory

the sun is setting
i see the ocean
where am i
i am not alone
across from me is a man
who
who is the man
the moon is rising
the moon is full
the man takes my hand
we dance
why
why am i crying
ah
his face
i see it
it's my love
a man loved by few
hated by many
our last memory together was our dance
a memory long forgotten

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
