A Lucid Night

A Lucid Night

As he walked alone,

the dry cracked pavement

massaged his feet.

Forward moving,

left foot,

right.

His only friend,

the night's full moon.

He skipped along,

right foot,

left.

A faint smile caressed his lips,

because he knows that happiness waits,

at the end of his endless road called fate.

right foot,

right foot,

left foot,

left.

His past is screaming for him to come back,

but he walks forward,

right foot,

right,

skipping his way into the night.

marching along the lonely pavement,

cracked and dry,

both road,

and soles.

with the moon at his crown,

and a smile,

a dream,

he walks forever,

until his past quits following,

me.

left foot,

left foot,

right,

left right,

waiting for the sun to shine,

at the end of an unending,

lucid night.
