    A True Friend

    I think I'm falling
I reach up and can't find a hand
    No one hears me calling
Everything I grab turns to sand

    I am letting go
I feel someone grab my arm
    It's someone that I know
She pulls me away from harm

She tells me to stay strong
    That I will be ok
I tell her that she's wrong
She says to take it day by day

    Now I see she's right
    Happiness is here
She showed me to the light
    Her actions were sincere

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
