The Healing
It eases my mind
It helps me to find
Who I really am, who I have become
It keeps me from being numb
It helps me to feel
It helps me to heal
As I pick up all the pieces
My heart releases
All the pain I endure
I begin to feel secure
I'm happier than I've ever been
In my own skin
As I pick up my pen
I begin to feel again
I am only myself
I don't try to be anyone else
What I write is true
About all I've been through
To read my notebook
Is a quick way to have a look
To see what I've overcome
And appreciate who I've become
It helps me to find
Who I really am, who I have become
It keeps me from being numb
It helps me to feel
It helps me to heal
As I pick up all the pieces
My heart releases
All the pain I endure
I begin to feel secure
I'm happier than I've ever been
In my own skin
As I pick up my pen
I begin to feel again
I am only myself
I don't try to be anyone else
What I write is true
About all I've been through
To read my notebook
Is a quick way to have a look
To see what I've overcome
And appreciate who I've become
