    Poem Commentary

An acrostic poem where each new line is the next letter of the alphabet. I read a prompt online that said "Make a poem where each line starts with the next letter in the alphabet," but the poem is completely original.

    A Year in 26 Lines

As always time passes; it’s nothing to fear

Because it happens each month and each year

Changes occur every day by day

Dreams are created to find their way

Everyone laughs and loves yet lies

Fighting for peace not matter how many tries

Great people pass on and many are born

Hearts break and mend and beat with forlorn

It’s confusing at times and crystal clear too

Just like the lawyers who defend and then sue

Knowing enlightens and encourages every brain

Light will still brighten and contrast the rain

More often than not a decision is made

Not that the wrong choice will be left to fade

Old friendships live on with memories for life

Practically destroying the thoughts of strife

Quotes are remembered and scrawled everywhere

Riled up students take notes which they share

Swords will clash and shields will shatter

Titanic fights create quite a clatter

United as one there’s no way we will fail

Vying for peace, not one person can bail

When the day is done and the actions have passed

X off each goal you accomplished last

You made it through another year

Zoomed by so fast; see? There’s nothing to fear.
