“Elizabeth”
“Elizabeth”
Elizabeth, my butterfly,
Your story I will tell,
You had my heart,
I loved you so; I lived beneath your spell.
The clothes you never wore,
Though always clean and smelling bright,
Hung upon the clothes line,
…as I saw your ass fly by.
Elizabeth, my butterfly,
Your crooked little smile.
If ever a friend I needed,
You would sit with me for a while.
How did they know, you loved them so
Put you in the butterfly room,
And as you watched, they danced and played,
In the sun for the afternoon.
From here to there and everywhere,
Your sweetness spread like nectar.
Your life on earth was short and sweet,
You will always be remembered.
So spread your wings my butterfly,
Go up to your cocoon,
I know that when my time is up,
We’ll get to share a room.
