    After The Fire

Oh let me hear your still small voice.
I've seen no quake, wind, or fire.
But chaos and turmoil has ruled my life,
And made my existence seem dire.

There's a peace that I seek that I knoow exist
I know it's there to be found.
But thoughts and actions has made me evade,
That peace and left me unsound.

I still have hope that faith can provide,
I still have desire to thrive,
But it conflicts with a mind that entertains thoughts,
Things would be better if I wern't alive.

This is a delimma, a contray sort.
For my brain races on making no sense.
Sometimes it seems I have no control,
And the pain that I feel is intense.

So help me be quiet and hear your words.
Let the still small voice ring higher.
Let it enter my mind and calm my heart,
    Like Elijah after the fire.
