    Are You Really Poor?

    You think you’ve got nothing,

    But you’ve always got something

When you live in a country like this.

    But when you’ve had nothing

    And then you get something

You suddenly have something to miss.

Now you know you have something,

So don’t say you have nothing

While you live in a country like this.

Because there’s people who’ve got nothing,

And when we do give them something

We’ve given them something to miss.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
