At The Sacred Rocks

At The Sacred Rocks

On a blustery spring day, we climb the trails,

to the sacred rocks that overlooking the river.

This sheer majesty of the view never fails,

to make you gasp at the beauty before you.

Silently standing, wind tossing our hair about,

All senses alive, speechless at the spectacle.

The sun behind the clouds, slowly peeking out,

leaving a golden trail as it sinks in the western sky.

Both of us full of the magic of the wondrous place,

no need for words between as we both feel the power.

Enjoying the moment, watching the look on your face,

The beauty of the sunset reflected in your eyes.

In the western sky, the sun sinks deeper into twilight,

Lost in the splendor of the moment as time stands still.

The shadows descend, swallowing us in the dark night,

Our souls have joined and are one with the Great Spirit.

Well done! In the end you effortlessly allude to the one that is beside you as what is truly sacred to you....that is what you made me feel...and I loved it.

Beautiful peace of understanding, nature has a direct way into our hearts, one without deception or vanity, she tends to the cords which hold us back knowing exacting where the roots are tangled. Thank you for sharing this.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
