Butterfly On A Winter’s Day

Butterfly On A Winter’s Day

On a dark winter day,

I awoke feeling alone.

Nothing good to say,

weary to the bone.

Much to my delight,

a butterfly appeared.

What a joyous sight,

one I will always revere

Precious, and the rarest,

glorious in her beauty.

To my eye, the fairest,

that I shall ever see.

She paused for a while,

just to visit, and to share.

How could I not smile,

in the presence of one so fair.

All to soon she had to go,

I wished she could stay.

The sun rose, and, you know,

The dark clouds went away.

This is so beautiful! It should be on a plaque in a nature habitat, where they keep the butterflies! I love butterflies.

Awesome ... nice share of a special moment ... open hearts attract great beauty ...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
