    Back To Reality

Love’s limitless boundaries once engulfed me like a wave
The warmth I found in its embrace was something I craved.
    Now emptiness strangles my soul.
Leaving me with no breath, no love, no life,
    Nothing but the cold.

My fantasy had become a reality that was not meant to be.
He couldn’t. He wouldn’t. He refused to love me.
Or maybe it was I who demanded too much of he.
Still I created a world and made it mine.
Until his words thundered in my skies,
Harshly flooding the streets where all my dreams lie.

Visions of perfection had danced through my head
Silly me making plans for the day we were to wed.
Promises you made and the magical things you said,
Never stopped you from tiptoeing to her bed.

I cheated myself, unable to see my wealth
Knowing there were times that I should have left.
When the pain knocked me down with such force
    I nearly lost my breath

Staying with you placated my pain for a while
All I had to do was remember your perfect smile.
And then came the amazing birth of our child

A happy home we tried to sustain,
Avoiding each other minimized the strain.
Unfortunately for you, I am not a woman
    That any man can train.

Wiser and stronger, now my eyes are wide open.
    And I can finally see,
That I do not need you or anyone else (but GOD) to love me.

GOD DOES LOVE YOU, AND WILL BE YOUR STRENGTH. THIS YOU SURELY KNOW. I PRAY THE WARMTH OF HIS EMBRACE DOES NOW FILL YOUR SOUL.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
