    Behind The Closed Double Doors

Drawn gloomy faces, jaw to palm

    Fingers entwined over the head

    Lips pressed together, eyes closed

Feet tapping together in rhythmless rhythm

    Arms folded across the chest

Waiting for a sound, a word or motion

From behind the closed double doors

The sound of voices, shuffling of feet

Brought them all out of their reverie

And right quite too fast on their feet

    Nervously, anxiously, expectantly, hopefully

Holding unto each other almost too hard

Knocking into each other roughly just to see

From behind the closed double doors

    At last almost like eternity

A creaking sound almost not heard

And they almost jumped out of their skins

Revealing a figure clad in white

Holding a bundle so close to the heart

As were thrown, flung open the secrets

From behind the closed double doors

    At once everyone was speaking

Crying and laughing at the same time

    Grabbing, pulling the white-clad figure

Who was flashing away all glowing teeth

To catch a glimpse of the swaddling bundle

A child has been born, a baby has arrived

From behind the closed double doors

Many a tear will be wiped by this baby

Cheeks caressed by these tiny hands, many

And starving bellies hungry no more

    Gloomy faces blessed with laughter

    Dreams conceived and achieved, countless

Degenerating man will receive hope, more

From behind the closed double doors

I like it it's about the hope of what new life can bring to others nice.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
