    Black Widow

    dusk’s sinewy patch
slinks a black cat arching red,
    mating season’s growl:
    creaming web peeks out,
    brandishing its bright honey
    salving his delights,
    midnight at high noon
    minding blackening gardens
    slaver her raised kiss
