    Blessed By God

    Blessed is the man,
    Who walks upright,
With Jesus in front of him,
    To strengthen his sight,
    A meaningless sacrifice
    You did not desire,
But the blood of the Lord
Pulled me out of the fire.

    Yes I've waited patiently
    For you Lord,
    And you heard my cry,
    You kept me close,
    So I would not die,
    It's good to be
    Blessed by God.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
