    broken heart

    Her heart like the sunset
    Pulled me apart
Mended my soul and healed my heart
    A smile on her face
    Brightens my day
It makes me feel good inside
    When she's okay

She told me she loved me
    Every once in a while
    But she didn't have to
Her kiss told me all the time

    Every time she touched me
It made me hard to breathe
And every time I'm with her
I find it so damn hard to believe
    That my life is completed
    And I've finally stopped grieving
    I paused.......And said to myself
    "Look at what i achieved...."

A simple knock on the door
A simple touch on my hand
She walked in, looked into my eyes and said
"You're the best i ever had."

Suddenly i realized that something was wrong
    My heart started pumping
    My nerves started jumping
Then her voice like a fax machine sends
    "Lets just be friends."

    She kept on speaking
But it doesn't get into my head
    I was frozen in time
I felt like I was dead
She stopped and looked at me
A tear fell from her eyes,
    A kiss on the cheek
    A hug around my waist
She turned around and said softly
    "Goodbye"

    I thought you loved me
    Look what you've done
    I gave you my heart
And you threw it on the ground

You were the only girl i fell for
You're the only girl i would ever kneel for
I thought you were the one
But you've put me down and gone

I cant believe this is happening to me
    Is this a dream?
I hope it's what this happens to be
I really do hope i'm dreaming

The reality had just hit me
    My head spinning around
    Look at what you've done
    Now I'm on the ground

    My eyes filled with water
    Mr friends filled with laughter
    They troubled me by saying
"Ha! where's your happily ever after?"

Then I paused .... and said to myself
"Nothing in this world will give her back
    The only chance I have
    Is to win her back
I assure you i will do just that
    This is my motivation
    Just to bring her back

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
