Can anyone point me in the direction?

Can anyone point me in the direction?

Can anyone point me in the direction?
I am looking for the road to happiness.
I know once I’m on it I’ll be headed in the right direction.
I think I made a wrong turn somewhere around the circle of trust and lovers lane.
I was misguided in my journey by a few people I thought I knew,
but they turned out to be strangers,
and they led me to a garden of unkept promises, followed by a river of lies.
I still couldn’t find it when I tried to navigate myself,
and lost the directions I was given by others;
well, at the time I really just didn’t want to listen.
I thought I was already headed in the right direction.
I got frustrated and I sat on a lonely rock on the side of the road to see if there were any signs to lead me in the right direction,
but the road seems long and unfinished.
So, now I am stuck here in this cross road, with no clue on where to turn.
I could turn around, give up, and go back to where I started,
but why would I go back through all that I came from?
I wouldn’t be able to forget the journey I took for nothing.
So again I ask…
can anyone point me in the direction?
I’m looking for the road to happiness...

I Really like this! I left this comment on another poem several days ago, without wanting to repeat myself, I feel it is fitting to this one that you have posted today....."Life is a journey and we should enjoy every step..Even the crossroads that map out our direction to keep us walking til we've reached our destination"....after leaving this, I continued the thought and wrote a similiar poem of my own..I havnt yet posted it but will in alittle while..thought you might like to know that others share similiar thoughts..

very good.. thought provocating. I feel like that sometimes

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
