Can I open my eyes yet

I was just wondering is this a dream,
you know laying here next to you is too good of a feeling
looking in your eyes
those beautiful eyes are just the thing I need to wake and face this crule world
these same wonderful eyes wake me to a brand new world
...our world
being with you it is only us no one else matters
I realized that I've in fact stumbled upon a rare and beautiful flower
some say this type of flower should only be admired nothing more but i wanted it for myself
in which i could delicatley hold and embrace
but this flower is much to perfect ,too amazing
this cant be real this must be a dream
this is why i cannot open my eyes now

I refuse...
i need this
i can't let this go
i won't open my eyes until i know this is not a dream
a dream i made up after watching too many movies and playing to many games
a dream that people like me won't ever obtain
a dream conjured by my hopes and emotions planned out by my encephalon only to make me feel some sort of pleasure before returning to this hell wole only known a tera firma

So I decided that i'll keep my eyes closed until it is safe
safe in knowing that you will be mine forever
not just in dreams but in my everyday peregrinations.
so now for the time being I will close my eyes and let this dream be my reality

goodbye

I love this. I really know how it feels. I had someone not to long ago that I used to ask this question to and it would always so Dont worry Gucci it's not a dream I will always be here. Well I opened my eyes! He is gone!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
