Change

Change my frown turn it around

Downside up and upside down.

Take my pride that hurts me wide

That makes me think I’m always right.

It causes pain to be so vain

For over all there is no gain.

Take my greed that brings more need

I have it all while others plead.

Change my life and make me new

All I want is to be with you.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
