    Childhood Lost

There is no hope for me,
    I’m truly all alone.
    Just like a child wandering,
    so very far from home.

    My childhood was taken away,
    at a very tender age.
    Leaving me a grown-up,
    full of hate and rage.

Being forced to grow up fast,
    leaves wounds that never heal.
    I’m so lost and afraid,
constant pain is all I feel.

    All my hopes and dreams,
    died so very long ago.
I had no way of knowing,
that I’d have so far to go.

    Outside the world goes on,
    so empty and so cold.
While I sit inside my room,
    slowly growing old.

Life has always been for me,
    a never ending hell.
    I wake up every morning,
praying that one day I’ll be well.

I lay my head down every night,
and ask God to take my immortal soul.
So that I may finally be at peace,
    and once again be whole.

People say today is full of promise,
    and tomorrow’s full of hope.
But they don’t have the slightest clue,
how hard it is for me to cope.

your heart felt poetry is perfection at its best. I feel you, and I recognize your kindred spirit. Great job

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
