City of Seraphs

Some of them can’t help but wonder why.

She’s got big city dreams,

And a heart full of screams.

Seize the time-

Or what’s left.

And lay it on the line.

It’s the night we chase.

It feels like we’re all in a race,

But it’s time to paint on a rainbow face.

Lipstick smiles,

They help pass the miles.

As she runs to the lights-

And avoids the night.

As we race toward the dark

I can’t help but pray we made our mark.

It’s not silent-

She’s back and ready to fill this place with her voice.

And my fear is un-pent.

But tonight she flies on faerie wings,

It seems those angels were there to fix things.
