Whimsy Veracity

Whimsy Veracity

Reality is overrated,

Give me a fantasy land.

I want to fly, I’m done being weighted-

Dance with me Peter Pan?

Off to Never Neverland we’ll fly

Tinkerbelle’s knoll isn’t far away.

Past Hook, we’ll float right on by

How I wish we could have seen the mermaids today.

Around the bend runs the March Hare

He’ll tend to the Queen of Red.

Enter only if you dare-

Because traitors oft end up dead.

Frankly Alice wishes she were me,

As I leave with the morning light

To Spare Oom! For I have the key-

I do rather hope the Tiz-rocs don’t fight.

But we’ll leave the ruling to Peter and Lucy dear.

Because Max has requested us Where the Wild Things Are.

They won’t hurt us, have no fear.

You’re sure to be quite tired- we’ve traveled very far.

If you wish to abandon me, that’s fine

Not everyone has my imagination I’m told.

To find home, just follow the silver line-

And there you’ll reach reality, just not mine

Well stated my fellow poet. I send my praises for your first poem.
