    Daddy

    FOR MY FATHER

I lay on the floor and reached for my Dad
With the tiny fingers and litte hands that I had.

In the palm of your strong hands you lifted me to the world
For you were my Daddy and I your little girl.

I felt safe and never did I fear
For in my heart you were always near.

My love and respect for you has grown over the years
And I am truly sorry I caused you heartache and tears.

I know you have struggled with difficult situations
I also know you have remained a good man through those trials and tribulations.

Dad, I wanted to take this time to share
And let you know how much I really care.

My eyes have opened and now can see…
Dad, words can’t express what you mean to me.

My ears can now hear – sound no longer muffled or unclear…
Dad, your voice is so strong and so very dear.

My heart on the mend and now beginning to heal…
Dad, your understanding and compassion I can now feel.

My mouth no longer silent – now has something to say…
Dad, I love you very much each and every day.

A hero is who I see.
Words of wisdom are what I hear.
Proud to be your daughter is what I say.
Honor and respect for you is my heart beat.

Thank you for all your support - for being there when I need you most.
Thank you for holding on strong – even when I was lost in the world doing wrong.
Thank you so much…Love, your daughter!!!

    so sweet

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
