Poem Commentary

Written for a special friend

Dear Shannon,

I could spend all night telling you about the things I want to do, but I may

impress you more with what I am going to do. You know I have a respect

for you only surpassed by love for my mother. A friend to have risen so

high so quickly I can promise you I have no other. This is where my

thoughts begin to slow, for whatever reason I don't know. Maybe it is

because I'm trying to make every line rhyme. Not working so fine. I can

tell you that I spent the majority of my day thinking of you. Thinking of

what your were thinking and if your thoughts matched mine. Then went on

wondering if I could stop time.  But if our thoughts did match and time did

cease to progress, I would ponder a way to come to you and for that

moment we could touch..  You seem to be the type to pray before starting

your day. I am the type to pray when things aren't going my way. Maybe

your aura will rub off on me and I will see life the way it was meant to be

seen, but until then and forever more I leave you with this promise. I

promise that between our first glance and our last kiss if it were to ever

exist I promise this.. that every day will be one to miss.
