    Devil's Pride Taken

In the gutters of man's soul lie incandescent beasts

Gatekeepers blocking the way to greener pastures

Cracks in the pavement that are slowly eroded to form pits

And cadavers in mass graves left to rot

The road to sin is often gold-plated

But in the end you stand to lose the garden of truth

Peace and tranquility may not sound as exciting

As the hissing of a snake

But won't it be worth it the day mankind can say

In a lifetime, only one person did we cheat

Indeed, only the devil's pride did we steal.

Very insightful. i like your use of words , especially "incandescent beasts". Very well done. Keep on writing!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
