    Poem Commentary

I always seem to feel better if I just Take a long drive!!! Spontaneous, planned whatever the open road is just a great place to clear your mind and think about your life....never know where it will take you.

    Driven

With my keys in my hand
    I made the decision
to drive what is in me
    that needs to be drivin

    No walls to contain me
    the road is all mine
     with freedom to just go
    and enjoy ride

    The night air is crisp
    and nostalgic to me
    with every breath I breath
    the more clearly I see

    The moonlight beams down
like a lamp in the sky
    shedding light just for me
    as I drive.....IM ALIVE!!!!

    My senses are heightend
As I gaze up above me
    the sky seems so endless
    like Gods grace and mercy

While I drive I can see
    whats beautiful to me
Im reminded of how I once loved
    Wait?......Is that my heart beat???

With every beat of my heart
    I get closer to home
    only to realize
I havent felt my heart beat in so long.......

    Never thought my heart
    would come back to me
    now I know this drive
    is surely meant to be....

    I grab the wheel tightly
put my foot to the floor
    and fly through the night
    like never before!

All the while I just smile
as the wind blows in my face
drying the tears from all the years
    Ive lost and cant replace

The night soon turns to day
    the stars begin to fade
the dawn has come with the warmth of the sun
and the end of the best drive that ide ever take

Its the end of the road
    I turn off the engine
    ejoying the silence
    I feel peace and contentment

With my keys in my hand
    I have made the decision
    that a life without love
    can never truely be drivin........
