Eclipse

 Eclipse

A slave again, weakened and beaten

down by the cunning,

dark and insidious enemy;

Can’t seem to break free

from the inflicted snare.

My weathered hands barely

able to build some stepping stones,

just to find a home

Oh someone please show me how to live!!

Grant me a solemn wish;

the courage to continue on,

and climb another hill.

Break me some bread;

the strength,

To find my way home

And show me how to live!!

These tailor’s hands

cut and swollen,

mending wings to fly again;

To a distant home...

Heal my wounds and show me how to live.

Cause I don’t know how,

I don’t know how!

I don’t know how to live

Here in this place on my own.

Blinded by my will, like the moon that shadows the sun,

hope this celestial will come to pass,

lifts the veil from my face (so)

I can open my weary eyes

to the top

And clearly see my way home!

Again!!

Here is where I will live!

Very well done fellow Portlander. You are the first person from Portland, OR I have found on here. I live in Troutdale, OR.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
