    Emotions of Birth

You come hurling into my life, like a bolt of lightning.

Kicking and screaming, squirming all over the place.

My first glimpse of you brings tears to my eyes.

Who would have thought you were this beautiful, my own piece of heaven on earth.

I sigh with relief it’s a healthy baby prefect in every way.

They place you in my arms a rush of emotion consumes me. Fear, that I would break you, not able to take care of you. Confused on how to protect you from the all the bad in the world.

Above all else LOVE was the strongest I felt. It was the most powerful of them all.

Your tiny hand gripped my finger and a bond was formed unspoken, but known too all, it knows no bounds, filling every fiber of my being an unconditional love for you.

I lay you down, my mind still astonished by you. A gentle smile reveals itself upon my face, to show the world I’m a proud dad today.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
