Even The Jailbird Sings

I sit here feeling hopeless, thinking of my wife and kids they now suffer because of the things I did. At the time I was just saying it's ok I'm doing it so we can get by and now I realize that was a lie. As I pace the halls of this place wondering how my family is doing from day to day and everything seems to be slipping away, then I see the break of day piercing throw the small window. I finally see the Glory of that Great Man above. I heard his voice through the thunder of my thoughts in my head, saying Don't worry take my hand instead, you see I settle you here so that you would listen and recognize me, because for your life I have a plan and you are truly blessed indeed. As I listened so carefully, then thanked him for his Mercy and Grace. I know the reason I'm here, but he let me know it is only for a season. I may be locked up but I'm not locked down because now I'm standing on Jesus and he is my ground. My mind is free and my voice rings loud with Praises of thee. Now I know what it means when they say "Even the Jailbird Sings"

Sometimes God allows us to go though things in order to get our attention and sometimes it’s to prepare us for the next level that He wants to promote us to. But whatever the reason may be, we should do our best to learn the lesson that He’s trying to teach us, so that we will be prepared for the next level that He is taking us to. Thanks for sharing your poem; it was greatly written. Be blessed, Clementine!!!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
