    Façade

    Sorrow runs deep within
    Threatening to spill over
    Has it reach its capacity?
Surely it must have at this point

    Eyes glistening with the unspeakable
    Unshed tears brimming, blurring
    Burning and finally breaking free
    Concealed behind shamed palms

Overwhelming sobs escape as desperate whimpers
Ragged breaths evidence to its intensity
Slowly curling into a tight ball
    Hiding from judgement and disapproval

    Air comes easier, breathing stabilizes
    Face flushed but tears disappear
    With effort composure is gained
Façade back in place, nothing is wrong.

Beautiful explanation of pain and tears. Very nicely written. My favorite line is the last sentence;)

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
