    Poem Commentary

i wrote this poem after i lost my best friend. she died during the holidays and i was so hurt.

    Farewell Dear

    I can't believe it's all the past,
Were you not the one who spoke to me yesterday,
    Please do that again today.

    I hope they're wrong,
I'm sure this is a dream,
You can't be gone,I'm really sleeping I'm sure.

    Death is so heartless,so wicked,
Why did you go, without saying farewell?
Why depart so, leaving me empty?

    Your holiday's taking so long,
    You just went away
    Well, farewell my dear friend.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
