Poem Commentary

True story, including the birds that congregated in my back yard and it was not one black widow bite, but a nest of black widows. By the forth day the noise from all the birds annoyed neighbors so much that they called out an Animal Agency to disburse them...that's when they found me.

What I do not tell many people is that the two brothers I lost were both bird lovers and had actually built bird aviaries, attached to their homes; although neither one knew other had one, as they lived in two different states.

Featherd Friends

‘FEATHERED FRIENDS’

Though I knew that I was sick

Didn’t know the full extent,

Prayed for the end to be quick

But the pain would not relent.

As the black widow’s venom

Made its paralyzing trek,

Too late for safe asylum

My mind wrapped in noxious silk.

Amidst chaos gathered the birds

Four days, four nights came and went,

Constant chirping of their words

But the flock would not relent.

Oh yes, they came from above

My guardian angels, ten,

For it only take one dove

To fly your soul home again.

I really like your poem it seem so real keep up the good work!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
