Fight

My heart is tore in two and

You say you want another yet still I fight for you

You say that I can’t clean house and I grip a lot

Yet I fight to please you like no other would

I go against everything I know while I fight for you

Yet in this great fight it still isn’t enough to please you

you still don’t know if you will stay with me for life

I have changed everything about me just in hope to keep you

Yet it still isn’t enough.

So now with nothing else left to give

for you to break and crush into nothing

I have stopped fighting for you and started a new fight

A fight for my heart and soul to mend

To not be left to scared from the brutal battle

Now the tables is turning and you are starting to fight for me

Yet your fight is not for the right reasons

You fight for all the wrong ones

when there are so many right ones to fight for

So now I say good by to you and all of the fighting

For all the fight in me is gone

Nothing left to fight for

that is worth fighting for

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
