Final Message

As the minutes turn to hours
and the hours into days
I feel my hearts been broken
in a thousand different ways

The dreams we had together
the life we were to share
are nothing but a memory
that is much to hard to bear

At last my life had meaning
my heart no need to roam
I lost you before I knew you
once again I walk alone

I gave you all I had to give
my heart, my soul, my trust
but you took these things I gave you
and ground them into dust

The hurt goes on forever
the pain it cuts too deep
with nothing left to dream about
I will sleep my final sleep.

Wow Gracey! This is painful for sure! Been there and done that, so I do relate. Well written and good meter and rhyme. Thanks again, for your review of my "Too Stoned to Write". Please visit again soon, as I love it when another talent rates me and I will always return the favor! Awesome! Rose. :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
