Never thought we'd be like this
In such a divide
I carried you under my heart
My love for you boundless
from the start
Pain darkens my soul
Every day
For all the grievances I have wronged you
All I can do is pray
Pray that in time
You will know
For you there will be
No distance I won't go
Your pain is my pain
Your grief is my sorrow
Each day I hope
For a better tomorrow
Your unconditional love
is all I seek
To make you proud
Would be my peak
So many times I've fallen
So many times you've tried
Tried to understand, support and forgive
Always reminding me, for what that I live
Fail you, I know, I do often
The pain of those blows
I cannot soften
I step forward each day
To try and do better
You don't see the change
Which makes me sadder
But walk away
NEVER
