    Forgotten Words

The confusing feeling I feel right now is for you,
I can't stop thinking of these powerful thoughts coursing through my brain.
Whenever I see you my heart feels like it's soaring,
Like nothing can every stand in my way.
I can't be with you, for you are already happy,
    But seeing you with her,
    Makes my light grow dimmer.

I love making you smile and laugh,
That's what I go for in a day.
But the mere thought of never being with you,
    Tears my heart away.

    I love you,
I've been wanting to say that for quite some time.
    Never had the chance,
I was afraid things would change between our friendship.
I don't know how I will cope with letting you go,
But after that happy day, and all the graduation caps go soaring in the air,
I will find you and tell you just how much I care.

The thing I hope for is to actually tell you,
And not to let you slip away unaware.
When I succeed to spill my feelings,
My only hope is that we'll be ok and nothing will happen between us.

So this is for you and for all those lost moments,
To where I abandoned my courage.
And for not letting you know just what I've been wanting to show,
    Is that I love you.
    And always will.

I can relate to this. I fell in love with my best friend. Everyone predicted that we would get married, but we didn't. Even tho we didn't I remember that as a great love.

I can remember when i had such feelings at a young age.... They burned inside of me like a wildfire and i swore they were true.... i found out otherwise later in life... you'll be fine trust me the other girl never lasts :)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
