    I Miss You

    A dark, cold night,
    Waiting for an answer.
I see your face in the fog-filled air,
Knowing that you are still here.
    Keeps my heart beating,
I know now that your love is still here.

So every night I think of you,
    Sitting here comforting me.
But then I realize that you are gone,
And there is no way for me to change that.

When I see your photo in my hand,
A single tear roles down my face.
I retrace back to those times,
Of always playing and laughing with you.
    But reality snaps those memories,
    And soon they're gone again.

In every dream I see your face,
Smiling and having a good time.
The morning comes and passes by,
And I'm burdened with the facts,
    You are never coming back.

    I'm sorry so glum,
    And I'm sorry so blue.
    But I just can't stop,
Thinking of all those times I spent with you.
The lord took you out of my hands,
Slipped you passed that wall of safety I had in my heart.
    When that day came,
I knew we would be apart.

But throughout all the tears, crying, and sadness,
I know you are still with me.
Even at my time of crazy and madness,
So now I know I can always count on you.
To never break my heart, and always be here,
I love you now and forever.
    My Uncle Chuck.

You expressed yourself so beautifully. I liked how it flowed. It's one that many readers can relate to.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
