From Nancy
I sat outside and cried today,
God came and called my mom away.
Her strength, her love, were mine no more.
I wondered what we’re living for.
Our loved one departs for a grander plane,
While we are left with grief and pain.
As I sat and wallowed in my pity,
I saw a butterfly, very pretty.
She came and sat upon my knee,
She wanted to have a talk with me.
She used not words, nor even sound,
The world grew quiet all around.
She simply sat and looked at me,
And suddenly, I could see.
I looked at her, and she at I,
I had to ask, I wondered why.
Of all her loved ones left behind,
Why she chose me to speak her mind.
She came to say all her goodbyes,
There was wisdom in her eyes.
She knew your grief wouldn’t let you see,
So she left a message to give to thee.
She’s happy and she’s free,
Heavens all it should be.
She loves you all very much,
And if your watching, she’ll be in touch.
